FAQs

Your questions answered

What are eyelash extensions?

They’re like normal hair extensions, but on a tiny scale. Individual lash extensions are applied to your natural lashes to enhance and extend their look. You could have a single extension on each natural lash, or lots – it all depends on the look you’re going for.

Semi-permanent eyelash extensions draw more attention to your eyes than mascara alone, and eliminate the need to faff around with false eyelashes and glue. Meaning you’ll look your gorgeous best the moment you wake up, after a workout at the gym, one the beach – everywhere!

How long will my eyelash extensions last?

Look after them properly, and your extensions should last 4-6 weeks. The lifespan of your extensions will depend on wear and tear, your lifestyle, skin type, etc. All of these factors will affect how quickly you shed your natural lashes and the extensions.

Do having eyelash extensions hurt?

Lash extensions don’t hurt – they’re applied to your natural lashes, not your skin. You may experience a little discomfort knowing that someone is working so close to your eye, but many people find the process very relaxing.

How realistic are eyelash extensions?

To the untrained eye, no one will know you’re cheating on your natural lashes. Your lashes will be clean and separated – none of that tell-tale mascara-like clumpiness.

How do I care for my eyelash extensions?

Lash extensions are very delicate, so proper aftercare is vital. The adhesive bond holding your extensions in place can be weakened by exposure to steam or extremely hot water, and touching, picking, or rubbing your lashes.

To keep your lashes looking gorgeous as long as possible, follow this advice:

  • Avoid contact with water or steam for as long as possible after your appointment to allow the glue to cure. At least 24 hours, and ideally 48. If you must shower, clean around your eyes and avoid getting water on your lashes.
  • Avoid prolonged heat (e.g., steam rooms, saunas), as this can weaken the glue used to bond your lashes and cause your extensions to fall off.
  • Only run a lash wand or brush through your extensions gently. If they are getting a little unruly, you may also separate and tidy your lashes using a toothpick, ideally after a shower.
  • Avoid using oil-based products around your eyes.

How long will having eyebrow extensions take?

It depends on the treatment you select, but at least an hour. Time estimates are provided when browsing treatment options.

What is a lash lift?

It’s a cosmetic procedure in which alters the shape of your natural lashes, so you can see their full length – creating the illusion of having used a curling wand, every day. It’s achieved with some specialist equipment and chemical solution, so should always be done by a professional.

How long will my lash lift last?

A lash lift will last 6 to 8 weeks (sometimes longer), depending on aftercare. It’s a good idea to brush your lashes in an upright position whenever you shower or get your lashes wet.

How do I prepare for a lash lift?

You need to remove any eyelash extensions, at least three days (but ideally a week) before. You should also avoid using eyelash curlers for a few days before your treatment. Remove all eye make-up the day before your treatment using an oil-free makeup remover, and remove your contact lenses.

Can I have a lash lift after eye surgery?

If you’ve had surgery around the eye (e.g. eyelid lift, laser eye surgery), you should wait at least 6 months before having a lash lift.

How do I care for my lash lift?

To keep your lashes looking gorgeous as long as possible, follow this advice:

  • Avoid contact with water or steam for as long as possible after your appointment, to ensure the chemicals being used aren’t neutralised. Wait at least 24 hours, and ideally 48. If you must shower, clean around your eyes and avoid getting water on your lashes.
  • Avoid prolonged heat (e.g., steam rooms, saunas), as this can weaken the effects of the chemicals used to curl your lashes.
  • Avoid using oil-based products around your eyes.

What is eyelash tinting?

It’s semi-permanent hair dye for your eyelashes. It won’t add curl, length or volume to your lashes, but instead darken and intensify your lashes’ natural colour – giving you the appearance of wearing mascara, even when you don’t.

How long will my eyelash tint last?

Around four weeks. The dye won’t fade, but your lashes will naturally fall out and regrow, being replaced by lighter, undyed new ones – this is completely normal.

How do I care for my tinted lashes?

Keep your eye area dry for 24 hours after your tinting treatment and use oil-free products around your eye.

Does lash tinting hurt?

A protective shield is pressed up against your lash line to protect your eye, and you might find this a tiny bit uncomfortable (especially when coupled with the fact that anybody working close to your eye can feel a bit weird). But it shouldn’t outright hurt.

What is brow lamination?

It’s a treatment that originated in Russia, in which your natural eyebrows are straightened and lifted, to thicken and enhance their appearance. A solution is applied to give a semi-permanent ‘brushed up’ look.

How long will my laminated brows last?

A brow lamination will last about 6 weeks (again, depending on aftercare). It’s a good idea to brush your brows in an upright/styled position whenever you shower or get your brows wet, to help keep their new shape.

How do I prepare for eyebrow lamination?

Before your appointment, it’s recommended you:

  • Avoid using exfoliants, retinoids, or AHAs on your face for one to two weeks before your brow lamination.
  • Avoid tweezing at least one week prior to your appointment.

Please come to your appointment without any makeup on your face.

How do I care for my laminated brows?

During the treatment, we apply a variety of creams and gels to achieve the desired look. Getting your brows wet too soon can undo all that hard work.

To keep your lashes looking gorgeous as long as possible, follow this advice:

  • Don’t get your eyebrows wet for at least 24 hours, and ideally 48.
  • Avoid direct contact with your browse – including sleeping on your back for the first couple of nights after your treatment!
  • Avoid using oil-based products around your eyes.
  • Don’t go into a sauna/steam room.

What is eyebrow tinting?

It’s a process where semi-permanent dye is smoothed over your natural eyebrows to help define and shape your arches. This can make your brows appear thicker and fuller, as lots of tiny, almost-invisible brow hairs are suddenly much more visible.

Can I use normal hair dye on my brows?

The dye used to tint brows is a different formulation to the at-home dye kits you might have used to change your hair colour. These contain ammonia, which can be dangerous to both the eye and the delicate skin surrounding it. Do not attempt to dye your brows using a store-bought hair colouring kit.

How long will my eyebrow tint last?

Eyebrow tinting typically lasts for three to four weeks, during which time the dye will slowly (and subtly) fade.

How do I care for my tinted brows?

  • Keep your brows completely dry for 12 hours following your appointment.
  • Avoid oil-based makeup, face serums, and face oils – there’s no harm in using these, per se, but they can all make your dye fade faster.
